Eamoni Collier defied the lack of diversity in the beer industry when she launched Urban Garden Brewing in Washington D.C. in 2021. Being one of the few Black-women-owned beer companies in the district, she stood out in an industry dominated by white-owned businesses. This lack of representation is not limited to D.C., as the beer industry nationwide remains overwhelmingly white. Despite these challenges, Collier has successfully carved a unique path in the beer business, breaking barriers and paving the way for more diversity and inclusion in the future.
