Bethann Hardison, a trailblazer in the fashion industry, is the focus of a new documentary called “Invisible Beauty.” Hardison, who has spent over five decades in fashion, has been instrumental in fighting for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry. She was one of the ten Black models who participated in the historic “Battle of Versailles” in 1973. Hardison has also founded organizations, such as the Black Girls’ Coalition and the Diversity Coalition, to promote diversity in fashion. The documentary, co-written and co-directed by Hardison and Frédéric Tcheng, provides an intimate look at her personal struggles and her significant impact on the industry.
