Blue Meridian Partners has made a $124 million investment in historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) as part of the HBCU Transformation Project. The investment aims to increase enrollment, improve infrastructure, and decrease the wealth gap. HBCUs produce nearly 20% of Black college graduates, but receive less funding compared to predominantly white colleges. The HBCU Transformation Project will use the funding to focus on initiatives such as technology infrastructure, staff development, and procurement. The project aims to reduce wealth gaps and increase enrollment and graduation rates at HBCUs, projecting a $1.1 billion increase in Black wealth.
