Sean “Diddy” Combs has reassigned publishing rights of Bad Boy Records songs to the original artists and writers, including Faith Evans, Ma$e, 112, The Lox, and the estate of the Notorious B.I.G. However, former Bad Boy artist Mark Curry claims that the publishing is worth very little. Curry stated that he only receives up to $400 a year from his publishing rights and would prefer Combs to give artists $1 million instead. This move by Combs has raised questions about whether it is an act of kindness or merely a gesture for good PR. Other artists, such as Ma$e, have also criticized Combs for unfair business practices related to publishing.
