Fashion stylist Law Roach, who has worked closely with Zendaya, has drawn comparisons between the actress and iconic Black beauty, Donyale Luna. Luna, considered the first Black supermodel, is the subject of a documentary set to premiere on Sep 13. Roach sees similarities between Luna and Zendaya, noting their beauty and calmness. In 2020, Roach and Zendaya recreated Luna’s looks for Essence magazine, sparking speculation about a potential biopic. While Zendaya has not indicated any plans to portray Luna, her interest in cinematography and desire to create what she wants to see made may make her a good fit for the role.
