Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for the immediate deportation of Eritrean migrants involved in a violent clash in Tel Aviv. This comes after bloody protests between rival groups of Eritreans left dozens injured. Netanyahu has also ordered a plan to remove all of the country’s African migrants. About 25,000 African migrants, mainly from Sudan and Eritrea, live in Israel, with many claiming they fled conflict or repression. Israel recognizes very few as asylum seekers and has tried various tactics to force them out, including offering cash payments to those who agree to move to another country.
