Actress Issa Rae has been appointed as the creative director for the 2024 American Black Film Festival (ABFF). The festival, scheduled for June 12-16 in Miami Beach, created this new position for Rae, who will work with the festival founders to curate the programming. Rae has a successful career both in front of and behind the camera, with credits including her HBO series “Insecure” and her production companies Hoorae Media and Raedio. The festival founders believe Rae’s extensive resume and advocacy for equitable representation will be an asset to next year’s event.
