Funerals were held for three Black victims of a racist gunman in Florida, with friends, family, and activists calling for action against hate crimes and gun violence. Rev. Al Sharpton criticized the laws that allowed the gunman to buy a rifle despite a history of mental health issues and denounced white supremacists who demonstrated outside Disney World after the killings. The victims were Angela Carr, an Uber driver, A.J. Laguerre, a store employee at Dollar General, and Jerrald Gallion. The shooter, Ryan Palmeter, targeted his victims because they were Black. Ministers also criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his stance on racism.
