Jann Wenner, co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has been removed from the hall’s board of directors after making comments that were seen as disparaging toward Black and female musicians. In an interview, Wenner discussed his new book, “The Masters,” which features interviews with all white and male musicians. When asked why he didn’t interview women or Black musicians, he responded by saying they “didn’t articulate at that level.” Wenner’s comments sparked backlash, leading to his removal from the board. Wenner co-founded Rolling Stone in 1967 and served as its editor until 2019.
