Sarah Collins Rudolph, who was injured in the 16th Street Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama, has not received any compensation or restitution 60 years later. The bombing, which took place in 1963 and was carried out by members of the Ku Klux Klan, killed four young girls. It took 45 years to charge the responsible men. Rudolph, sister of one of the victims, spoke about not receiving compensation or a personal apology from the state of Alabama. She believes restitution should have been given to the victims’ families, who were innocent churchgoers targeted because of their race.
