Sean “Diddy” Combs, along with Byron Allen and Tyler Perry, wants to create a Black-owned media powerhouse by joining forces. Combs intended to buy majority stakes in BET, but now that BET is staying with Paramount Global, he plans to collaborate with Allen and Perry. Combs believes that unity among Black moguls is necessary to compete with other networks and media moguls. Paramount Global considered selling its majority stakes in BET, but announced last month that it is no longer for sale. Combs, Allen, and Perry aim to control their own platforms and narratives through this potential collaboration.
