Shawndre Delmore, a 24-year-old man, has died after being found unresponsive at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. This is the sixth death in custody since the end of July. Delmore was discovered during a routine check by a jail officer and attempts were made to revive him before he was taken to the hospital, where he passed away. The jail is already under investigation by federal authorities for potential civil rights violations. The U.S. Department of Justice initiated the investigation in July, citing violent conditions and the previous death of a man due to severe neglect.
