County commissioners in Georgia are considering doubling the maximum size of houses that can be built in the Hogg Hummock community on Sapelo Island. The Hogg Hummock community is one of the few surviving Gullah-Geechee communities in the South, descendants of enslaved people who have lived along the Southeast coast for generations.
