Oprah Winfrey recently hosted a panel discussion called “The Life You Want Class: The State of Weight” where she discussed the obesity crisis and her experiences with weight discrimination. She was joined by obesity specialists and the CEO of WeightWatchers. Winfrey talked about her own struggles with weight and how she has been treated differently when she weighed over 200 pounds. She also spoke about the pressure to take weight loss drugs and her belief in doing things the “hard way.” Winfrey expressed her frustration with body-shaming and the importance of owning one’s choices for their own health.
